Senior Business Analyst, Products (CityCloud)

Job description

Product Business Analysts are a key role with ADVANCE’S Products Group, where we build and integrate custom applications on the ServiceNow Platform to advance our clients’ business forward. You will support the Product Application Team in conducting industry research, developing use cases and requirements, documenting test cases and supporting Quality Assurance efforts through those cases, and building out documentation.

This role specifically supports Advance Solutions CityCloud, our certified “Built on NOW” solution for local governments that modernizes citizen services.

  • Partner with Product Marketing to plan and coordinate the development of primary and secondary market research studies in support of product roadmap.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and interrelate market research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making for product roadmap.
  • Drive discussions with product owner and/or business partners to understand the process, the problem, and then brainstorm solution scenarios
  • Actively engage product owner or business SME to translate solution needs into actionable user stories
  • Partner with product owners/SMEs to define & refine acceptance criteria
  • Partner with developers on reviewing user stories for understanding and scoring
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Write test cases for user stories
  • Perform/coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure functionality meets business needs before each product release
  • Secure approval & change management activities with senior product manager or product owner before release
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
  • Business Analysis/Functional Consulting: 5+ years (Preferred)
  • Local/Municipal Government (either directly or as consultant): 3+ years
  • Experience in business optimization, problem-solving, or strategic solution roles with progressive responsibility
  • Experience gathering and consolidating requirements from cross-functional groups
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams and ability to translate complex information and deliver presentations to various audiences.
  • Must be organized and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experienced in Agile methodologies
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate basic and complex solutions.
